Summer Company & Secondary School Business Plan Competition, 2009 Successful Participants

If you’ve got a winning idea for starting a new business and are a student who is not afraid of hard work, then you should consider applying to Ontario’s “Summer Company" Program.

If your application is accepted, you will be eligible to receive an upfront award of up to $1,500 to help put towards start-up costs and up to $1,500 upon successful completion of the program.

Applying to Summer Company is a competitive process. Space is limited and the program reaches capacity quickly - APPLY EARLY.


Secondary School Business Plan Competition,
Markham 2010


In partnership with the Town of Markham, MSBEC invites all high school students in Markham to participate in the 8th annual Secondary School Business Plan Competition.


Nominee(s):
The Program is open to students in Grades 9-12 at any high school of Markham.


Admission Requirements:
  • Students may choose to submit a business plan as an individual or as a group of a maximum of three students.
  • All plans must involve a business idea that is wholly original and based on the independent thinking of the applicant(s).
  • The judges' decision is final.


Deadline:
All business plans are to be received on or before May 31, 2010.


Number of Awards:
There will be a total of four awards: The BDO Award of Excellence for First Place and Three Finalists.

 

Prize Structure:

1st Prize $600/group
Finalists $300/group
